About Tweet Test
Tweet Test is a small collection of browser games about X, the service most people still call Twitter. They are quick to play, need no account and run entirely on your device.
The games
- The 280 Challenge hands you a long, rambling sentence and asks you to cut it to 280 or 140 characters without losing the facts. It counts characters the way X does.
- Twitter History Quiz asks ten questions per round from a pool of 40, covering 2006 to today.
- Hashtag or Not shows made-up phrases and asks whether X would link each one as a single hashtag.
How we check facts
Every quiz question has at least one source, listed on the answers page. We prefer news coverage from the time and well-referenced reference articles, and we phrase dates at the level of detail the sources agree on. The character counter follows X's published developer documentation. When X changes something, we update the games and guides. If you spot an error, please let us know.

Tweet Test is built and maintained by the Tweet Test Team, a small independent group that makes simple web games and tools. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to X Corp. "X" and "Twitter" are trademarks of their owner and are used here only to describe what the games are about.
About this domain
The tweettest.com domain was used by other people in earlier years. The site was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management and has no connection to earlier owners of the domain or to anything published here before.
